This Friday new data protection legislation comes into force that will change how personal data is managed by organisations.

But there are warnings from the Information Commissioner’s Office that small businesses and charities will be wasting valuable resources by entirely reviewing customers’ data before ‘General Data Protection Regulation Day”‘.

The General Data Protection Regulations have been seven years in the making.

The law will replace the 1995 Data Protection Directive, after the European Parliament set new legislation to be relevant to our digital lives.
