An Animated short film showing how the idea for the Royal Albert Hall

became a reality has been released to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the

inception of the venueThe

Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert came up with the idea of a

building to celebrate the arts and sciences

After Albert’s death in 1861, it was Queen Victoria dressed entirely in black

that  laid the hall’s foundation stone in 1867

Construction was completed four years later

The video has been released on the venue’s website and social media channels
